Here’s the first of what I hope will be several videos from our April 13 performance at the Black Fox Lounge. I’m very happy that we captured this particular performance of “Fly Me To The Moon”, which went on an interesting (and surprising) trip.

Since I started my new job, my practice time has become more limited, so I’m always looking for new ways to learn new things in a short time. It’s no surprise, then, that I was attracted to Peter Martin’s 2 Minute Jazz Piano series on YouTube. Perfect length for a short tip to work on in a limited (or longer) piano session. For example, here’s a quick refresher on broken 3rd scales, which I should have remembered last week when I had to play a very fast “Cherokee”:
